| Bio: | I'm a Portland, Oregon artist - focusing on the human figure and working mostly in charcoal or oil paint. Some of my favorite artists include John Singer Seargeant, Salvador Dali, Whistler, Odd Nerdrum, Magritte, Van Gogh, Degas, Talouse-Lautrec, and Bernard. I have a lot of work on display at http://www.sito.org/cgi-bin/egads/segads?idonly=KLK As a day job, I am a marketing manager for a civil engineering firm, writing proposals to public agencies to provide engineering services to complete multi-million dollar infrastructure improvements. In my spare time, I also work with my genius partner, Matthew, who is a movie maker/writer, and also writes musical scores for film. I'm currently working on discovering more about film production, and learning the legal and logistical end of making movies. Also, I'm dipping my toe in writing some short scripts for films, which has been really exciting. The last few years have also awakened a newfound interest in politics and US History. I've lived in the Oregon/Washington area my whole life, and have grown to love the rain and the green of this place. I also love to travel, and I've been to Europe several times, visiting Belgium, France, and Germany. I had a crazy childhood, growing up with four siblings and being raised as a Jehovah's Witness. Before I moved away from home at the age of 17, my family moved a total of 13 times, making settling anywhere and making friends fairly difficult. I started college at the age of 15 through a special program in Washington, and studied art for four years. Since then, I haven't found the time/expendable cash to reenter college, but I am looking for the opportunity to do so in the future. | |||||||
